TINJAUANTRAFIK_6577_preview.jpg For Malaysians who wish to travel and spend Christmas with their loved ones, the government has announced free tolls on December 23 and 24 throughout the country. The toll-free time is scheduled to start at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, December 23, and end at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, according to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
This toll waiver, which only applies to Class 1 cars (private vehicles) and includes all highways—aside from the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza in Johor—is expected to cost the government RM38 million in reimbursements to toll operators.

In order to avoid congestion during the holidays, travellers are advised to plan their trips in advance by contacting the Malaysian Highway Authority's (LLM) Traffic Management Centre at 1-800-88-7752 or checking the LLM's social media accounts on Facebook, X, and TikTok for real-time traffic updates. Live traffic visuals can also be accessed through CCTV footage on the official website at
