On the back of Perodua’s historic performance in 2024, both P2SA and PDA both posted massive gains last year.

The Perodua Suppliers Association (P2SA) and the Perodua Dealers’ Association (PDA) have both posted massive gains, following the historic performance recorded by Perodua in 2024. Last year alone, the second national automaker sold a total of 358,102 units, while its total production volume was capped at an impressive 368,100 units.

According to P2SA president Musa Zahidin Tan Sri Ahmad Zaidee, P2 has estimatedly purchased over tens of billions Ringgit worth of parts and automotive components from the association’s members over the past few years, which also marks the highest purchase ever recorded in its entire history.

“From our estimate, Perodua has purchased over tens of billions Ringgit Malaysia worth of automotive components from our members over the past couple of years, which is the highest purchase ever made in our history.

“These purchases played an important part in enabling P2SA members to re-invest and expand our operations, improving economies of scale and increasing our competitive advantage, especially when cost is escalating due to external factors,” Musa added.

Musa also highlighted that part of P2’s stellar 2024 achievement is due to the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s open communications approach taken by P2SA, ensuring that all Perodua’s needs will be taken care of immediately. Not to forget, the initiatives taken by some P2SA members to re-invest in their operations that include greater automation and incorporation of IoT (Internet of Things) have paid some contributions to P2’s 2024 success.

On the dealership side, PDA president Rabitah Dato’ Shamshudin said the total vehicle sales of 358,102 recorded by Perodua last year posted both challenges and rewards for P2 dealers.

“For PDA members, registering the majority of the 358,102 Perodua vehicles was both a challenge and a delight. The amount of coordination and logistics on Perodua’s side to realise this number was indeed impressive.

“We wish to thank Perodua, and especially Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad’s (Perodua President and CEO leadership in taking us to greater heights," she said.

Rabitah also added that Perodua has offered its dealers a lot of tangible support on how to improve their operations, as well as encouragement to upgrade to a 3S operation, which has paid off many of PDA’s members in recent years.

Moving forward, both P2SA and PDA are committed to Perodua’s continued success, and will be looking forward to improve their operations to meet growing demands for Perodua cars in the future.
