- Puspakom's Free Festive Safety Checks Temporarily Halted
Puspakom has halted its free safety inspections for private vehicles that it offers prior to significant events, with a focus on people going back to their hometowns. The corporation has stated that it will not be holding its Festive Voluntary Vehicle Inspection (VVI) program for this Chinese New Year (CNY), though it is unclear if this will also apply to Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
“We regret to announce that we will not be conducting our free Festive VVI programme for the upcoming Chinese New Year and remain uncertain about its availability for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“We want to emphasise that this is not a discontinuation of the VVI programme, but rather a pause as we focus on rebuilding and strengthening our internal processes,” The company says in a statement.
In response to recent incidents that involve dismissal of 37 of its staff due to integrity issues between October 2023 and this month, Puspakom is taking steps to enhance its operational efficiency, precision, and overall service quality.
Additionally, the company is reassessing its CSR initiatives to develop more structured and impactful programs that deliver sustainable, long-term benefits.
Pusoakom also stated that while safety inspections are not required by the Road Transport Act, private vehicle owners are encouraged to perform them in the interest of safety.
“We thank the public for their understanding and patience as we take this time to refine, rebuild, and realign our efforts. Our commitment to serving the community remains unwavering, and we look forward to returning with stronger, more impactful initiatives soon.”
