- BYD Atto 3 FL Revealed: Sharper Look With God’s Eye C ADAS
BYD pulled the wraps off the facelifted Atto 3 thanks to leaked images from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and it’s looking sharper than ever complete with significantly improved driver assistance systems.
However, as CarNewsChina points out, despite BYD calling this a second-gen model, it’s really a mid-cycle refresh—but with solid upgrades inside and out.
Up front, the new Atto 3 gets a more aggressive bumper with a front camera and a larger air intake. The headlights haven’t changed, but they still feature the sleek “Dragon’s Whiskers” chrome strip connecting them.
For the Chinese market, a new body color option will also be added and all units will feature blacked-out D-pillars, giving the SUV a sportier stance. Around the back, a fresh roof spoiler with dual GAC GS3 Emzoom like vertical brake lights and dynamic turn signals adds a modern touch. The taillights now feature a unique Chinese knot pattern.
Buyers will also be offered a choice between 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels.
The biggest update however is the addition of BYD’s God’s Eye C (DiSus 100) driving assistance system. The Atto 3 now packs 29 sensors, including multiple cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors.
This upgraded system claims to bring better high-speed navigation and smarter parking modes, a much-needed improvement over the previous model’s ADAS, which had been a weak spot.
Dimension-wise, nothing has changed. The Atto 3 is still 4,455 MM long with a 2,720 MM wheelbase, 1,875 MM wide, and 1,615 MM tall. It will also retain the same 201 HP front-mounted electric motor juiced by either a 49.9 kWh (430KM CLTC) or 60.5 kWh (510KM CLTC) LFP ‘Blade’ battery packs.
Now, the big question—will BYD Malaysia bring this updated Atto 3 to local buyers? Sales have been slipping for the Atto 3 locally, partly due to strong competition and complaints about the previous ADAS system in face of improved offerings from competitors.
With the refreshed design and improved tech, this version could turn things around as the new system might be exactly what the Atto 3 needs to win them over.
