- Four New Proton e.MAS Dealerships In East Malaysia Announced
The Proton e.MAS 7 made landfall in East Malaysia recently following the opening of new Proton e.MAS brand dealerships across both Sabah and Sarawak states.
Following up from last week’s groundbreaking ceremony for its new electric vehicle (EV) production plant in Tanjong Malim, national automaker Proton sees its Proton e.MAS EV brand strengthen its presence across East Malaysia this week.
Earlier today, PRO-NET – Proton’s new energy vehicle subsidiary – revealed that the Proton e.MAS brand network welcomes a slew of new dealerships established across East Malaysia – two in Sabah state, and another two in neighbouring Sarawak state.
The first of these new East Malaysia dealerships opened on Feb 8 by Harapan Maju Sabah Sdn Bhd. Present here was YB Datuk Phoong Jin Tze, Sabah's Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship.
Starting is Sabah, dealers Haparan Maju Sabah Sdn Bhd were the first to open their Proton e.MAS showroom on Feb 8 in the state capital of Kota Kinabalu. Present for said outlet’s launch too were YB Datuk Phoong Jin Tze, Sabah’s Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship.
Besides that, Sabah state will also see its second Proton e.MAS dealership officially open later this month on Feb 28. Notably, this second outlet will be operated by dealers Fook Loi Eurocar Sdn Bhd – one of Sabah state’s biggest and most experienced automotive firms.
Moving to Sarawak state, dealers Melinau EV Sdn Bhd officially opened their Proton e.MAS dealership in Kuching earlier this month on Feb 11. Said premise’s launch was officiated by YB Datuk Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of Kuching South.
Similarly, the Sarawak state capital is also set to see its second Proton e.MAS dealership open its doors later this month on Feb 13 operated by dealers Ghee Hua Co. Sdn Bhd.
Launched back in Dec 2024, the Proton e.MAS 7 is priced at RM109,800 (Prime) and RM123,800 (Premium), but an on-going promotion sees the first 6,000 units benefit with a RM4,000 rebate in said prices.
With strong partners, we are confident that this milestone will accelerate the EV revolution in the region, bringing innovation, sustainability, and an exceptional EV ownership experience to our customers,” said PRO-NET’s CEO, Zhang Qiang.
According to PRO-NET, these new dealerships reflects their ongoing commitment towards expanding East Malaysia’s EV ecosystem. They are also part of a larger vision to provide Malaysians access to sustainable and innovative automotive solutions, adds the firm further.
Altogether, PRO-NET also sees its Proton e.MAS dealership network growing to a total of 37 outlets nationwide, and this figure is set grow further this year too.
