Making its global debut at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Spain is the all-new Kia Concept EV2 – the smallest Kia EV to date.

This is it. Following a lengthy teaser campaign, Korean automaker Kia has finally revealed its newest all-electric concept, known as the Kia Concept EV2. Unveiled at the ongoing 2025 Kia EV Day in Spain, this quirky EV concept will serve as a preview to the upcoming Kia EV2, which is set to debut later in 2026.

According to Kia, the new Concept EV2 showcases “the brand’s vision for a future B-segment all-electric SUV,” where its production version will be the smallest member of Kia’s EV lineup, at least until the rumoured Picanto-sized Kia EV1 arrives in the future.

From the images published, we can see that the Concept EV2 borrows many design cues from the rest of its family members, with the forefront being Kia’s new ‘Opposites United’ design ethos, which is apparent in its flagship model, the Kia EV9.

Some key design highlights include the sleek headlights featuring dual L-shaped DRLs, a boxy SUV bodystyle with thick C-pillars and hidden door handles, rugged front and rear bumpers with thick plastic underbody claddings, and lower-mounted LED taillights, to name a few. Given how most of Kia’s EVs look almost identical to their respective concept twins, we can expect the upcoming EV2 to look very similar to the concept too.

Given its concept stage, the Concept EV2 predictably looks very minimalistic and bare-boned, featuring a unique four-seater layout with a heavy emphasis on practicality. The lack of central pillars allows for a pretty spacious cabin despite the car’s small stature, while the rear seats can be folded down and the front ones can be slid back to transform the cabin into a comfortable two-seater lounge.

Other cool and quirky tech amenities primed here include the triangular portable speakers on the doors, the pop-up luggage dividers, suicide-style doors, and many more. Then again, we can expect most of these quirky bits not to make their way to the actual production model, although Kia president and CEO Ho Sung Song did promise that the EV2 will offer technology and practicality “beyond its size.”

On the powertrain front, we’ve been told that the production version of the Concept EV2 will likely underpin the same E-GMP platform as the rest of its family members, more precisely a shorter version of said architecture given its small stature. The SUV is expected to be available with a single electric motor and a smaller battery pack compared to the slightly larger EV3, thus making it more affordable than the latter.

As we mentioned earlier, the production version of the Kia Concept EV2 will arrive sometime later in 2026, with both its native Korean and the European market set to be the early adopters, followed by other overseas markets shortly thereafter. Price is expected to be around the €30,000 (RM138,810) mark, which sounds promising should the Korean automaker manage to do so.
