Bowing earlier today too is a brand new EV offering from Toyota christened as the C-HR+.

Besides refreshing its bZ4X, Japanese automaker Toyota also expanded its electric vehicle (EV) model range earlier today by debuting an all-new addition. Teased not too long ago, the new Toyota C-HR+ bowed earlier today wearing a familiar name, but it brings an all-new electrified choice altogether.

Unlike the similar-named but combustion (ICE)-powered C-HR model, the new C-HR+ has a larger footprint in contrast. Underpinning the e-TNGA 2.0 platform base, this new EV crossover offering sits some 5,420 MM long with a 2,750 MM wheelbase, 1,870 MM wide and 1,595 MM tall.

Whilst the "hammerhead face" is a typical Toyota design touch, the C-HR+ does sport a steep sloping roofline, as well as distinct touches like its full-width LED taillight and integrated C-pillar door handles.

Visually, the new Toyota C-HR+ continues to feature the distinct “hammerhead face” as seen in other contemporary Toyota models. Distinct touches though can be seen in the sporty sloped roof and C-pillar, integrated C-pillar door handles, and a distinct full-width taillight.

Moving into the cabin and, overall, things here somewhat mirror the face-lifted bZ4X, though the centre console does appear slightly different. What is similar though are the steering wheel design and adoption of a 14-inch central touchscreen interface.

Notably different here too is the rotary gear selector and accompanying button being positioned further backs than in the bZ4X to accommodate dual wireless charging pads. Noteworthy too is the panoramic roof, sizeable 416-litre boot space, and ample headroom.

The interior is somewhat a carbon copy of the bZ4X's, though there are several minute differences. Notable presence include the massive 14-inch central touchscreen, dual wireless charging pads, and more.

Like the 2025 Toyota bZ4X, the C-HR+ sees three guises available. Things start with a base variant primed with a 57.7 kWh battery pack and single e-motor (or ‘eAxle’, as Toyota terms it) powering the front wheels (FWD) with 165 HP to enable 0-100 KM/H dashes in 8.6 secs plus a claimed 455 KM (WLTP) range.

Next comes a mid-specced variant with a larger 77 kWh battery instead as well as a peppier 221 HP ‘eAxle’ driving the front wheels (FWD) yet again. This variant does 0-100 KM/H sprints in a quicker 7.4 secs, and it also boasts a longer 600 KM (WLTP) range, thus making it the most efficient of the trio.

Lastly comes a range-topping dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) guise juiced by the same 77 kWh battery option. Outputting 338 HP, this variant is the quickest of the trio with its century sprint time of 5.2 secs. Naturally, the performance gain comes at the price of range, hence its lower 520 KM (WLTP) figure.

Toyota touts the new C-HR+ as the 'fun-driving twin' to the bZ4X. Both are set to go on sale in Europe this year, though the C-HR+'s entry into other markets remain unconfirmed for now.

All variants are set to be primed with Toyota T-Mate features, which includes the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite of active safety and driver assistance systems (ADAS) features. As standard, it will get a blind spot monitor, adaptive high beam and parking support brake, with park assist and a panoramic view monitor available in higher grades.

As for availability, Toyota confirms the new C-HR+ will go on sale in Europe this year alongside the refreshed bZ4X. Availability in other markets wasn’t confirmed, but this sleek and sportier twin to the bZ4X is expected to enter key markets such as North America soon enough.
