MAA Feb 2025 vehicle sales and production figures were revealed earlier today.

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) released its Feb 2025 vehicle sales and production figures earlier today. From which, the association recorded a total vehicle sales of 63,906 units, marking a 31% - or 15,174 units – increase from 48,732 units sold in Jan 2025.

MAA says the increase was fuelled by a stabilised market that recovered from Jan 2025’s setbacks, though it doesn’t state what exactly were these setbacks. As for Year-on-Year (YoY) comparison, the figures here instead show sales shirking slightly by 2% - 65,017 vehicles were sold in Feb 2024.

Feb 2025 sales were up 31% versus Jan 2025 where a total of 63,906 vehicles were shifted by MAA members.

As for Year-To-Date (YTD) total sales, the first two months of 2025 saw MAA record a total of 113,056 vehicles shifted. This also marks a 14% YoY decrease versus the total sales of 131,938 units recorded in the same corresponding timeframe in 2024.

Moving ahead, MAA expect sales volume to rise in March 2025 due to the push by automakers to deliver vehicles ahead of the upcoming festive Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays, as well as automakers seeking to meet deliveries before the end of the financial year on March 31.

Production figures recorded by MAA in Feb 2025 did see a 7% decline versus Jan 2025,  whilst the YTD total also stands 17% less YoY versus same corresponding timeframe from 2024.

As for production numbers, the association recorded 61,435 vehicles were produced by its members throughout Feb 2025. This is 7% less than the 66,464 units the association recorded in Jan 2025.

Reflecting sales, the 118,444 units YTD total production figures as of Feb 2025 marks a 17% decrease from the 143,516 units recorded for the same period in 2024.
