Earlier today, a viral video circulating social media has gripped the attention of many local netizens and observers. In it, we see a local motorcyclist bravely – and expertly, we might add – wrangle a rather sizeable python snake off a busy road.

No confirmation when and where exactly this incident occurred. Based on details seen in the video though, the incident likely occurred recently (Feb 27) in or near Taman Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur.

The motorcyclist brave - and expertly - coaxed the agitated python off the busy road, but it took several attempts, thus causing traffic congestion.

In the video, the helmeted motorcyclist can be seen using a stick to carefully coax the snake off the road at first before wrangling it bare-handed on the nearby sidewalk. With the snake clearly agitated, this took several attempts before succeeding, thus causing traffic congestion.

Once on the sidewalk, the motorcyclist the carefully placed and locked up the reptile in his motorcycle top box. Instead of leaving the snake by the roadside or releasing into the nearby bushes, the video then shows the motorcyclist delivering the snake to fire and rescue officials.

Once on the sidewalk, the motorcyclist then wrangled and locked up the snake into his top box before promptly delivering it to a group of amused yet preapared fire and rescue personnel.

Clearly, his efforts not only alleviated panic for other motorists, but he also saved the snake from further harm. The effort also garnered plenty of praises from netizens and online observers.

Clearly, this brave motorcyclist knew a thing or two about handling snakes – arguably once a common skillset amongst many non-urban Malaysians.
