Denza’s upcoming - and still unnamed - sportscar model is set to make its official debut at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show this month. Thanks to a new set of spy photos published by CarNewsChina, we’re already getting the clearest look yet at what appears to be a near-final prototype.

Unlike previous sightings, this version looks almost production-ready, with the headlights being the only element that still seems unfinished. The new images offer a much better sense of the car’s proportions and design language.

Visually, the car draws clear inspiration from performance icons like the Ferrari 488 and Lotus Emira. It features a sleek two-door layout, but interestingly, with four seats - just like the Ferrari 456. Both hard-top and convertible versions are expected.

Performance is rumored to rival that of the Porsche 911, and pricing is said to start above RMB300,000 yuan (RM182,000).

Up front, the car sits low and wide. The flat hood is flanked by muscular bulges, while the sharp front lip juts outward, giving the car a purposeful, aggressive stance. It’s clearly built with aerodynamics in mind. Along the side, large alloy wheels and a low-slung profile emphasise its sporty nature complete with a glasshouse roof design.

It also features a sloping roofline that flows into a large spoiler complete with an aggressive rear bumper. As per a previously leaked image, the Denza could possibly share a footprint almost similar to the Porsche 911.

Inside, things take a slightly different turn. Rather than going with a bare-bones, track-focused cockpit, Denza has opted for a more family-friendly and tech-forward interior similar to most new Chinese EV offerings.

The four-spoke steering wheel is thick and packed with buttons, likely controls for the ADAS and automatic parking features. A Mercedes-Benz-like column-mounted gear selector sits behind the wheel, while a large floating infotainment screen dominates the minimalist dashboard.

Although no official dimension has been shared as of yet, from the spy images we know that the car will come fitted with massive 21-inch rolling stock. This ultra-wide tyre which is also used on the BYD Han L EV, is rated for speeds up to 300 KM/H.

With this we can roughly gauge that this Denza sportscar will deliver performance on par or greater than the Han L EV which already delivers a staggering 1,086 HP. With its design and setup, expectations are high.

Guess all eyes will be on Denza when it takes the wraps off this striking new model at the Shanghai Auto Show. If the final version matches what we see in these spy shots, it could be one of the most exciting EV debuts of the year to possibly take the limelight from the overly publicised Xiaomi SU7 and the YangWang U9.
