- Hyundai Sets Another Record-Breaking Sales Month
Hyundai Group reported record-breaking sales figures, seemingly unaffected by US tariffs on foreign-made vehicles. April marked their best month ever, with 81,503 units sold, a 19% increase compared to 2024.
This achievement extended their streak to seven consecutive months of record total sales, fueled by a rush of buyers anticipating price increases due to Donald Trump's impending import tariffs, scheduled to take effect on May 3.
Hyundai Tucson sales shot up 41% in April, hitting 22,054 units and topping the charts. Elantra wasn't far behind with a 30% jump, selling to 13,125 customers. Santa Fe took third place, selling 12,417 crossovers with a 28% increase.
Hybrids are doing great for Hyundai, seeing a 46% sales boost, and EVs grew by 25%. However, the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5 had a bit of a drop, with sales down 12% and 8%, respectively.
Despite achieving record sales for the past seven months, the carmaker's positive momentum could change with the implementation of Trump's imported tariffs, set to take effect tomorrow.
