PDRM deploys thousands of its officers for Op Lancar to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow during this Aidiladha festive period.

The Federal Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has launched ‘Op Lancar’ to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow during this Aidiladha festive period.

According to JSPT director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri in his official statement, a total of 1,858 officers and personnel have been deployed at hotspot locations nationwide, ranging from state routes to major highways. The whole operation is set to commence throughout this festive weekend, from June 6 to 9.

Traffic congestion is expected to occur on key routes heading outwards from the Klang Valley as Malaysians travel to their hometowns to celebrate Aidiladha with their families, with millions of vehicles expected to be on the road from Friday onwards.

The JSPT director advised road users to plan their journeys back to their hometowns accordingly. Additionally, Yusri also advised the members of the public to always adhere to the traffic laws by avoiding cutting lanes, misusing the emergency lanes, or obstructing the main traffic lines.

Those who are travelling back home are also advised to check the current traffic conditions by visiting the JSPT’s official social media site and other relevant sources ahead of their journey.
