Proton officially opened bookings for the all-new X50, following a recent high-energy preview event at Setia City Mall themed “Ready to Roar”.

First launched in 2020, the X50 quickly rose to become Malaysia’s best-selling B-segment SUV, with over 140,000 units sold to date. The new model builds on that success with refreshed styling, enhanced features and a more powerful engine all while maintaining its strong value proposition.

Exterior changes include a redesigned front end with sharper LED lights and Proton’s new signature grille design. The sporty theme continues at the rear with a more prominent rear spoiler (Flagship variant), full-width LED taillights and quad tailpipes. Additionally, a new Teal Bayou Green colour joins the existing palette.

Inside, the cabin now adopts a cleaner, more minimalist layout anchored by a large 14.6-inch infotainment screen that finally supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include Bahasa Melayu voice recognition, Proton Link 2.0 app integration, and a redesigned console with a wireless charger and ambient lighting.

Under the hood, the new X50 swaps out its 3-cylinder engine for a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit, offering 178 HP and 290 NM. Paired with a 7-speed DCT, the drivetrain promises better acceleration and improved fuel efficiency.

Safety has also been upgraded, with full Level 2 ADAS now available, plus features like a new rear radar system, improved auto parking assist and a 360-degree HD camera with undercarriage view.

Customers who book from July 5, 2025, until the yet-to-be-announced launch date can take advantage of Proton’s limited-time “Ready to Roar” early booking campaign.
