- Luxury Cars Set Ablaze in Bandar Saujana Putra, RM1.6 Million in Damages
Police are on the hunt for four men suspected of setting fire to five luxury vehicles in an early morning incident at Bandar Tropicana Aman, Bandar Saujana Putra.
The incident took place yesterday and according to Kuala Langat Police Chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, a distress call was received at around 6.45AM, alerting authorities to a car fire.
Investigations revealed that the targeted vehicles belonged to a man whose family was away at the time. Police believe four male suspects were involved in intentionally torching the vehicles.
The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire, an offence that carries a maximum jail sentence of 14 years.
Estimated losses have reached RM1.6 million, which also includes damage to the front part of the victim’s house.
The vehicles destroyed in the fire included a Nissan GT-R R35, Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Volkswagen Golf GTI, and a Toyota Alphard.
Authorities are appealing to the public for information. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the Kuala Langat district police headquarters at 03-3187 2222.
Earlier, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the fire destroyed 90 per cent of the five vehicles parked in front of a two-storey terrace house.
The blaze also affected two nearby homes, with the front portions of each suffering damage estimated between 5% to 10%.
