The Caltex Havoline range of engine lubricants has been updated locally as Caltex Malaysia introduces a new Caltex Havoline Fully Synthetic Hybrid SAE 0W-20 addition to which.

“Hybrid engines are becoming an increasingly popular choice among motorists in Malaysia, resulting in a demand for specially formulated lubricants that cater to hybrid engines,” reasoned Dean Gilbert, Country Chairman of Caltex Malaysia.

The new Caltex Havoline Fully Synthetic Hybrid SAE 0W-20 is formulated epecially for hybrid vehicles.

As its name aptly suggests, this new lubricant from the brand owned by Chevron Corporation prides itself at being specially formulated for hybrid engines. Caltex adds this formulation promises smoother engine operation and to maximise performance too.

According to Caltex, hybrid engines are typically more prone to low temperature sludge, corrosion, and wear due to their lower engine temperature. The special formulation mentioned prevents these issues thanks to three special properties.

This new hybrid-specific lubricant prides itself on three special properties - strong emulsion in the presence of water, excellent rust and corrosion protection, as well as the ability to minimise sludge formation and varnish deposit under low temperature environment.

Firstly, the formulation forms strong emulsion in the presence of water, thus resulting in smoother oil flow. Secondly, it also boasts excellent protection against rust and corrosion of engine parts by forming a coating of oil as barrier between components.

Thirdly, the formulation has specially engineered chemistry to minimise the formation of sludge and varnish deposit on the surface of engine parts in hybrid vehicles under low temperature environment, thus resulting in cleaner engines.
