Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay, MAE and Boost Payments At All JPJ Counters Now
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has rolled out e-wallet payment facilities at all its counters nationwide, making transactions faster and more convenient for the public.
The cashless payment option is available via Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay, Maybank MAE and Boost, in line with the government’s push towards digitalisation. The nationwide launch follows a pilot project introduced in Kuala Lumpur in May 2024 and later expanded in stages across the Klang Valley.
JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the initiative reflects the public’s growing preference for cashless transactions, which are seen as safer, quicker and more practical.
“In 2024 alone, JPJ recorded 43.01 million cashless transactions amounting to RM4.87 billion. From that figure, 805 transactions were made via e-wallets with collections reaching RM73,109,” he said.
As of Aug 24 this year, the department has already recorded 46.5 million cashless transactions worth RM5.6 billion. Of these, 245,626 were e-wallet transactions, bringing in collections of RM19.6 million.
“The increase in usage clearly shows that customers now prefer services offering convenience, speed and security,” Aedy Fadly added.
To support the rollout, JPJ had conducted intensive training for counter officers nationwide between Feb and March this year, covering payment procedures, system reporting and transaction verification.
