- Traffic Diversion On Bukit Gambir-Tangkak From Aug 5
Drivers travelling along the North-South Expressway near Tangkak can expect traffic diversions starting August 5, as construction kicks off on a new bridge.
The affected stretch spans KM166.79 to KM168.26 between the Bukit Gambir and Tangkak Elevated Interchange, and the diversion will be activated in both directions.
The works are expected to continue until December 30.
PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) confirmed that the diversions will be introduced in stages to make way for bridge construction works carried out by contractors from the Public Works Department (JKR).
“Highway users are encouraged to plan their routes ahead and follow all traffic signs and directions from on-site personnel,” PLUS said in a statement on Sunday.
Real-time traffic updates will be available through the PLUS mobile app, the PUTRI Virtual Assistant, the @plustrafik account on X, and electronic message boards (VMS) along the highway.
For urgent help or emergencies, motorists can also call PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000.
PLUS is reminding drivers to stay alert in the area throughout the construction period and to be patient as the work progresses.
