Nilai is set to drive Negeri Sembilan’s next wave of growth with Auto City, a RM1 billion project within Nilai Smart City covering 1,800 acres. Positioned as a landmark automotive hub, it is expected to draw major investments and transform the region’s economy.
The groundbreaking ceremony was organised by Nilai Resources Group Sdn Bhd and attended by its chairman, Tan Sri Dr Gan Kong Seng, alongside Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Tan Sri Dr Gan said the Nilai Smart City project would place Nilai firmly on the regional map and attract both local and international investors.

Datuk Seri Aminuddin said Auto City will serve as a modern automotive hub with showrooms, spare parts outlets, service centres, automotive aesthetic facilities and lifestyle spaces. “It will not only attract international automotive brands but also provide opportunities for local firms to join the regional automotive supply chain and ecosystem,” he said.

The first phase began in Sept and is expected to create over 5,000 jobs in technical, service, logistics, marketing and management fields. Aminuddin said the project will boost local communities, strengthen small businesses and reinforce Negeri Sembilan’s position as an investment destination.

Auto City is part of Nilai Smart City’s wider blueprint, which spans seven zones including education, healthcare, housing, warehousing, industry and electric vehicle manufacturing. Integrated with technologies such as artificial intelligence, the project aligns with the Malaysia Vision Valley agenda for high-value, sustainable growth.
Furthermore, Nilai’s proximity to KLIA and Putrajaya, along with the upcoming Nilai-Labu-Enstek Expressway in July 2026, reinforces its role as a gateway and administrative hub.
Aminuddin said he hopes Auto City will spark Nilai’s rise as a competitive automotive hub and a symbol of modern progress for the state.
