Sime Darby Motors Malaysia, the automotive arm of Sime Darby Bhd, has seen good growth over the past one year and its target is in line with the projection by Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

"MAA has projected an 8 percent growth in the total industry volume this year," said its managing director of retail and distribution for Malaysia, Jeffrey Gan during the launch of Sime Darby Motor City.

Sime Darby Motors Malaysia has launched its RM 570 million automotive facility, the Sime Darby Motors City.

Located in the township of Ara Damansara within the Klang Valley, the Sime Darby Motors City spans across 8.6 acres with an overall built-up area of 1.3 million square feet over eight levels. It is also touted as the largest automotive complex in Southeast Asia, it houses a number of the largest flagship showrooms in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

"As one of the key players in the automotive industry, Sime Darby Motors has always been committed to pursuing excellence as we strive to provide world-class services to our customers. The launch of Sime Darby Motors City is a testament to this steadfast commitment," said Sime Darby Motors managing director Andrew Basham.

Brands that are available under the complex include ten flagship brands such as BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, MINI, Motorrad, Porsche and Volvo. It also has an indoor facility capable of displaying close to 100 vehicles under the Sime Darby Motors' pre-owned car business Sime Darby Auto Selection.

The facility has 200 service bays, about 700 customers parking area, electric vehicle charging bays, and is able to display more than 180 vehicles. It has more than 200 service working bays, electric vehicle charging bays, Virtual reality (VR) corners, delivery bays, cafes and many more.

This system helps to enable quicker access to the customer's database, and allows a fuss-free experience, minimising the administrative process and reducing customers' waiting time.

"We do not have the figure for digitalisation, but it is a huge investment," Gan said.
