OVer 5,000 units of the face-lifted 2025 Proton X50 B-SUV have reached customer hands since launching in late July this year.

With over 5,000 units delivered into customer hands since its glitzy launch back in late July, the new 2025 Proton X50 now stand as both Malaysia’s best-selling and most popular B-SUV.

With that in mind, the national automaker elected to reassure new owners and potential buyers alike that it is more than capable of handling the after sales needs for said face-lifted model, which sees three variants on sale priced from RM85,800* onwards.

Proton revealed today it has beefed up stockkeeping and delivery time of parts for the new X50, especially in East Malaysia where demand continues to grow.

Via a press release issued today, Proton revealed it has beefed up both stockkeeping and delivery time of parts for the newly refreshed X50 model considering its popularity, especially across East Malaysia where the automaker noted growing demands.

Central to this is the Proton Regional Parts Centre in Kuching, Sarawak. Situated in the Bintawa Industrial area, the 28,000 square feet facility is three times larger than its predecessor with a 200% increased capacity to boot.

Opened in 2022, the Proton Regional Parts Centre in Kuching, Sarawak processes 15 to 20 containers monthly on average to operate at full capacity and hold between 3 and 3.5 months of stock.

This facility can handle up to six containers simultaneously, and it presently processes an average of 15 to 20 containers monthly. This also ensures the facility operates at full capacity to hold between 3 and 3.5 months of stock.

Coupled with the ability to receive overseas shipments directly, this facility can deliver parts for the refreshed 2025MY Proton X50 mentioned as quickly as 2 days for urgent orders, and 7 days for regular stock requests.

The Regional Parts Centre in Sarawak delivers up to 6,000 orders monthly, with urgent orders taking 2 days to arrive, and 7 days for regular stock requests.

“Capable of delivering up to 6,000 orders per month, this facility allows Proton to meet dealer needs quickly and efficiently clear backlogs for customers,” adds Zhang Qiang, Deputy CEO of PROTON Edar.

“This Regional Parts Centre is the largest among OEM competitors in Kuching. It functions as the main distribution hub for Sarawak and, if necessary, also supports Sabah,” continued the exec further.

With market share in East Malaysia increasing from 19.5% in 2024 to 19.5% in 2025, the national automaker also notes the region also contributed to 20.6% of its total sales volume thus far in 2025.  The arrival of the new X50 is expected to boost said figures further.
