The damage occurred while contractors were carrying out ongoing road maintenance.Mohd Roshdi Ismail, chairman of the Gua Musang District Disaster Management Committee, said the Public Works Department (JKR) had been informed of the incident. “The contractors are always on-site, ready to respond immediately if anything happens,” he said.

The government is set to amend three major laws next year to make way for the nationwide rollout of the<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/11/six-bidders-eye-barrier-free-mlff-toll-system-report" target="_blank" style=""> Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) toll system. </a> The <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/10/star-systems-touch-n-go-confirm-malaysias-first-operational-mlff-trial" target="_blank" style="">Federal Roads Act 1959, Road Transport Act 1987, and Malaysian Highway Authority (Incorporation) Act 1980</a> will be updated to include toll-evasion offences and enforcement rules under the new system. <span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan explained that MLFF lets vehicles pass tolls without stopping, which could mean some motorists don’t pay.  <span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">“You know, MLFF is a toll system where vehicles simply drive through. The <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/11/johor-regent-flags-traffic-concerns-ahead-of-rts-link-launch" target="_blank" style="">Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link project</a> reached an important milestone with the arrival of Train Set 02 at the Wadi Hana Depot, where it will undergo testing and commissioning.
The<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/11/rts-link-65-complete-first-train-arriving-this-month" target="_blank"> four-car train left CRRC’s Batu Gajah facility on Nov 12, covering 541 kilometres on low-loader trailers. </a><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">The journey, carefully planned around safety, traffic, and weather, included stops in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, and at Kempas Toll, where teams conducted thorough inspections to ensure all components stayed secure.

The trials will check signalling, communications, train performance, and operational readiness. Passenger capacity tests are planned for next year to ensure smooth service.
“All eight train sets will be fully tested over six to seven months before driverless operations begin. Four sets are already at the depot, with the remaining four arriving by December 2025,” Marzuki added. RTSO chairman Datuk Khairil Anwar Ahmad confirmed the project is progressing smoothly, with 65% overall completion and safety standards strictly enforced. Once operational in early 2027, the RTS Link is expected to carry up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

For the<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/11/klia-aerotrain-halts-daily-midnight-to-5am-for-maintenance" target="_blank" style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; white-space-collapse: preserve;"> month-long action plan by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB)</a> to truly succeed, Law said, the airport operator should focus on resetting the system rather than patching existing components. Otherwise, KLIA risks becoming technologically advanced but operationally sub-standard, he stressed.

“People-mover systems tend to be complex and could experience catastrophic failures if issues related to signalling, power distribution, vehicles, software, and sensor alignment are not perfected,” he explained.Law further mentioned that world-class systems like Frankfurt’s SkyLine, Changi Airport’s Skytrain, and Hong Kong’s APM demonstrate that technology can perform at high levels with uptimes exceeding 99% if managed and maintained properly.“KLIA’s global ranking will ultimately depend on performance and maintenance. If the action plan is implemented successfully, KLIA can reach the level of reputable airports and people movers,” he added.KLIA’s Aerotrain will be out of service nightly from 9PM to 7AM starting Nov 15 for about a month as Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) carries out a major upgrade to fix recurring disruptions.

The move comes after four separate service interruptions since the system resumed in July. Chief airports officer Bryan John Thompson said the issues were “standard failures” that happened during real-world operations.
