A recent social media post from one of Perodua’s dealers has confirmed that the company’s first EV, the QV-E, will officially launch on Dec 1 at 11AM.

The update lands after a string of teaser videos over the past weeks, steadily building anticipation for what Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim describes as a major milestone in Malaysia’s automotive landscape.

In the latest teaser - part of the ongoing series since the very first clip — Perodua appears to take yet another playful jab at the “100% Malaysian EV” narrative, this time with a new tagline: “Because no one builds for Malaysians like Malaysians do.”

The QV-E name itself is inspired by the physics formula E = QV, symbolising energy, charge, and voltage. Alongside trademark filings, last weekend’s teaser also confirmed the QV-E badge, effectively locking in the model’s official identity ahead of launch.

Perodua has leaned heavily into national pride throughout its campaign, boldly positioning the QV-E as “The 1st 100% Malaysian EV.” The Prime Minister further underscored its significance, describing the model as a national agenda and a milestone for Malaysia’s automotive industry.

Last shown to the public at Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the QV-E adopts a sporty fastback silhouette inspired by the e-MO II concept, with angles reminiscent of the Toyota C-HR. Early expectations point to a 410 KM range, Malaysia’s first BaaS (Battery as a Service) offering, 0–100 km/h in around 6–7 secs, and a 165 km/h top speed.

Production began back in Sept, and pricing is expected to start below RM80,000 — positioning the QV-E as one of the country’s most accessible EV options. It will likely sit between the e.MAS 5 and e.MAS 7 in both price and segment.
