West Coast Expressway (WCE) has announced a temporary road closure and traffic diversion along several sections of the expressway this weekend in conjunction with the Klang Royal City Marathon 2025.

The closure will take effect from 10PM on Saturday, Nov 8 2025, and will reopen to motorists at 8AM on Sunday, Nov 9 Nov 2025. It involves the entire stretch from the Bandar Bukit Raja South Interchange to the Assam Jawa Interchange.

The affected access points include entry ramps to the WCE from the Grand Sepadu Expressway, Jalan Meru, Persiaran Hamzah Alang, LATAR Expressway, and Jalan Kuala Selangor.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys ahead and use the alternative routes provided. Traffic will be diverted through Persiaran Hamzah Alang (B3217) to Pekan Meru and Jalan Meru (B1) for travel between Kapar and Klang/Shah Alam, while another diversion will reroute vehicles through Jalan Kuala Selangor (FT54), Jalan Klang (FT005), and Pekan Kapar for travel between Ijok/Assam Jawa and Klang/Shah Alam.

The temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety of marathon participants and smooth traffic flow during the event. WCE advises all motorists to comply with directions from traffic personnel and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) stationed at closure points.

Adequate signages, barriers, and personnel will be deployed throughout the affected areas to assist drivers. WCE apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this period.
