BYD Malaysia, along with partners BYD Sime Motors, recently revealed that it reached a major sales milestone in the local market. In just under 3 years, the firm has successfully shifted some 25,233 units locally.
Take note that the total figure stated covers both the main BYD marque and Denza luxury sub-brands – the latter has only been operational for less than year with just one model on offer now, that being the Denza D9 luxury EV MPV.
As for the main BYD brand, having no less than 7 models on offer naturally sees it command the lion share of said sales total. Combined, both brands had also shifted a total of 12,872 units as of Nov 2025 to mark a 76% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

Whilst the Atto 3 EV C-SUV continues to charge the main BYD brand's sales, Denza also saw sales of its sole D9 luxury EV MPV offering chart stimulating sales pace.

For BYD, its staple and signature Atto 3 EV C-SUV offering leads the charge still. A quick check on Data.gov.my also reveals the nameplate’s monthly new registrations with JPJ peaked at 3,505 units back in May this year.
Apart from the Atto 3, BYD Malaysia also touts rapid sales growth for two of its very latest metal, those being the Atto 2 compact EV SUV launched in July this year, as well as the Seal 6 compact EV saloon that launched back in Sept this year.

Besides the Atto 3, the main BYD marque has six other models on sale locally, and these naturally command the lion share of the firm's sales.

“This is another milestone we’re truly proud of. To now have more than 25,000 Malaysians as part of the BYD family is incredibly rewarding, and it shows how quickly the EV movement is growing in our country,” expressed Eagle Zhao, MD of BYD Malaysia.
“In just 3 years, BYD has become a key pillar of Sime Motors’ automotive portfolio,” adds Jeffrey Gan, MD of Southeast Asia, Sime Motors – parent firm of BYD Sime Motors.

To date, the combined BYD and Denza brand network sees 39 sales outlet plus 24 after-sales and service centres established. The latter is complemented by 12 B&P centres too.

Sales aside, both BYD Malaysia and BYD Sime Motors also highlighted its expanded local network again. As reported prior, both the BYD and Denza combined brand network sees a total of 39 sales outlets established, followed by 24 after-sales and service centres.
Complementing the latter are 12 authorised body & paint (B&P) centres plus a massive centralised parts warehouse facility that houses over 4,600 line items whilst maintaining a 94% fill rate. As for manpower, said network employs over 1,000 employees.
With a CKD plant set to begin operations in H2 2026, BYD Malaysia also looks poised to see this facility contribute to its local - and perhaps regional - sales further.

Looking ahead, BYD Malaysia MD Eagle Zhao also expressed the firm’s continued commitment towards “bringing the best products and technology to Malaysia.” Key to which is of course the firm’s upcoming local assembly (CKD) plant.
As reported, sdaid facility will be situated in Tanjong Malim, Perak and is set to see operations kick off sometime in the second half (H2) of next year (2026).
