- Denza Malaysia Surpasses 1,000-unit Sales Milestone
Denza Malaysia marked a major milestone recently as its sales surpassed the 1,000 units mark.

Despite only starting operations earlier this year and launching just one model offering, Denza Malaysia revealed earlier today via press release that it has reached a major sales milestone recently after surpassing the 1,000 units sales mark.
As a refresher, the BYD-owned luxury sub-brand officially announced its arrival when it launched the D9 luxury EV MPV model back in Feb 2025 – two variants are available priced from RM259,000 onwards. Since then, said model saw its sales reach a total of 1,002 units as of end of Nov 2025.
“Crossing the 1,000-unit mark in under a year reflects the trust Malaysian customers have placed in Denza and the strong appeal of the D9,” said Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia – parent firm to Denza Malaysia.
Launched bac in Feb 2025, the Denza D9 sees two variants available priced from RM259,000 onwards.

Prior to this, BYD Malaysia disclosed that its total sales since it first established itself in Dec 2022 surpassed 25,000 units thus far. Between Jan and Nov this year alone, the firm’s combined sales total of 12,782 units to mark a massive 76% year-on-year (YoY) increase – Denza Malaysia’s figure stated prior contributed to which too.
In turn, Denza Malaysia is expected to reach a total sale of 1,200 units at least by year’s end, which is also when the government’s tax incentives for fully imported (CBU) EVs also ends. Despite so, Denza Malaysia iterated plans to continue its momentum and expand its products range.

It's unclear still if Denza Malaysia will continue CBU EV models beyond Dec 31, though the firm has stated plans to expand its local line-up further.

It’s unclear still of the firm will continue sales of CBU EV models, though we won’t discount the possibility of a local assembly (CKD) effort being kick-started early. We’ll remind you that parent firm BYD Malaysia had already outlined plans to establish a CKD plant in Tanjong Malim, Perak by the second half (H2) of 2026 too.

One key new metal that could be added into Denza Malaysia's local line-up is the Z9 GT shooting brake, which is available in both PHEV and full-EV forms.

Certainly, what will be key to model range expansion for Denza Malaysia in 2026 will be the Z9 GT. This unique shooting brake (sporty estate), which is available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (EV) flavours, was previewed several times locally since Feb, and it could be added into the line-up for Denza Malaysia soon.
Expect more details announced once the new year unravels. For now, Denza Malaysia is making another push for the D9, offering prospecting buyers with 0% interest financing and trade-up offer worth up to RM15,000 for purchases of the D9 this month.
