BYD-Seal-Performance-MediaDrive-39-full-(4).jpg BYD is on track to hit a huge milestone this year, exporting over one million vehicles in 2025.

The latest industry numbers show that 128,067 BYD passenger cars were shipped overseas in Nov, a jaw-dropping 313% jump compared to last year and a 59.9% increase from Oct.

From Jan to Nov, the giant automaker has already moved 878,498 vehicles abroad, more than doubling its total exports from 2024.

This growth has put the carmaker in second place behind Chery in Nov’s monthly export rankings, which saw 135,190 vehicles shipped. But the gap is closing fast especially since Chery’s exports are mostly traditional petrol cars, while BYD is fully focused on new energy vehicles (NEVs).

In Nov, it led NEV sales in Brazil, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Croatia, and topped overall brand sales in Singapore.

For the first eleven months of 2025, the firm also dominated NEV sales in Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and Italy, while achieving overall brand leadership in Singapore and Hong Kong.

The company has even overtaken Tesla in 11 key markets including major European countries like the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Ireland, as well as Asian markets like Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore, Thailand, and China.

BYD’s NEVs are now available in 119 countries and regions worldwide, and it recently celebrated producing its 15 millionth new energy vehicle on Dec 18, becoming the first automaker to reach that milestone.

If BYD can keep up Nov’s pace in Dec, it’s almost certain to surpass one million exports for the year.

With its focus on NEVs, rapid global expansion, and strong export numbers, the giant automaker is closing in on Chery and making a serious statement as a global electric vehicle powerhouse.
