- LRT3 Won’t Launch This Year As Glitches Persist, No New Date Set
The LRT3 Shah Alam Line will not open this year, with Prasarana confirming that the line failed to complete its fault-free run (FFR) due to multiple software issues.
Prasarana officials said 33 glitches were detected during FFR tests that began on Aug 26, 2025. These included problems with train docking, door functions, trains failing to depart stations, and false speed or stopping alarms.
"Because these faults surfaced during mandatory testing, the main contractor, Setia Utama LRT 3 Sdn Bhd, will not face penalties," Prasarana CEO Amir Hamdan said.

For approval, the first train must complete 4,000km fault-free while other trains must each cover 2,500km. So far, the first train has met its requirement, and three others have surpassed 3,000km.
"The delay will not incur extra government costs as the project uses a fixed-price contract. All testing is expected to be completed by the end of Jan, with a new launch date to be announced next month," he added.

He further noted that the project timeline remains aligned with the Transport Ministry’s expectations, although unforeseen software issues caused the missed December 2025 deadline.
