Proton e.MAS concluded 2025 on a high note by reaching a total of 9,549 users for both the e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 5.

Besides the main brand, Proton’s new energy arm, PRO-NET, also concluded 2025 on a high note, as the Proton e.MAS user base has now reached 9,549 owners for both the e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 5 EVs. This translates into broader EV adoption by Malaysians, while at the same time helping to reduce street-level air and noise pollution.

This momentous milestone coincides with the first anniversary of the Proton e.MAS 7, which also concluded 2025 on a high note by becoming Malaysia's number one EV model for that year. As of now, a total of 9,336 units of the e.MAS 7s have been registered, including 8,677 units locally and 659 units exported.

At the same time, the Proton e.MAS 5 follows in the footsteps of its larger sibling by becoming one of Malaysia’s most popular models, with the compact EV hatch now gaining traction as the nation’s first affordable EV model, with 213 units delivered last year.

The first batch delivery for the e.MAS 5 was completed back in Dec 2025, with subsequent deliveries set to follow suit at all Proton e.MAS outlets nationwide, as the model recorded an astounding booking volume of over 14,600 units by the end of 2025.

To support this rapid growth of interest towards the Proton e.MAS EVs, PRO-NET has worked closely with its dealer network to ensure readiness across sales, vehicle handover, customer onboarding, and after-sales operations.

“2025 marked an important Head Start for Proton e.MAS, not just in terms of growth, but in the real-world impact our vehicles are making every day,” said Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET.

“With 9,549 e.MAS vehicles now in operation, we are seeing how our e.MAS owners can contribute to cleaner air, quieter journeys, and reduced fuel consumption through ordinary driving.”

“As we move into 2026, our focus remains on building on this Head Start by expanding our electric offerings, strengthening charging and after-sales support, and ensuring that electric mobility remains practical, accessible, and rewarding wherever our vehicles operate,” Zhang continued.

With both the Proton e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 5 now in operation, these EV owners are helping to offset up to 10 million litres of petrol consumption per year, avoiding up to 21,000 tonnes of tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions while lowering nitrogen oxides and particulate matter.

As for the traffic noise, Proton e.MAS EV owners have also helped to reduce urban traffic noise at low speeds since EVs generate six to 10 dB less noise compared to internal combustion vehicles. More importantly, PRO-NET also claims that the shift to electric driving delivers immediate human-centric benefits at street level, from quieter commutes to reduced exhaust exposure in densely populated areas.
