- Honda Malaysia Eyes 60,000 Sales, Confirms Six New Models For 2026 Too
Honda Malaysia Managing Director & CEO Narushi Yazaki addressing press members earlier tonight. the exec had put forth the firm's plans for 2026.

Honda Malaysia is the latest manufacturer to host its annual Chinese New Year press dinner earlier tonight. During which, the firm laid out its plans for this year, which includes a new sales target buoyed by a wave of new models.
Firstly, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO Narushi Yazaki announced the firm’s target to shift 60,000 units – slightly lower than the 72,301 units total it managed to shift throughout 2025. This ‘modest’ approach is typical of the firm.

This year, Honda Malaysia has set a 'modest' target to shift 60,000 units, which will be buoyed by the arrival of up to six new models, though the firm didn't disclose what exactly the latter will consists of.

Notably, the achieve said target, Yazaki confirmed that no less than six new models will be launched too. However, neither he or other Honda Malaysia execs present tonight provided any intimation to the identity of these incoming new models.
Instead, the Yazaki hinted that Honda Malaysia will make another strong push for its electrified – read: hybrid – tech this year. More specifically, the firm will introduce models featuring its latest S+ Shift tech – a feature specific to its hybrid products.
“The ‘Fun to Drive’ spirit reflects our commitment to delivering vehicles that connect with our customers at an emotional level. “The introduction of the S+ Shift technology for the first time is a clear example of this direction in action,” added Narushi in his address.

Insiders have confimred to us that both the Prelude premium hybrid sports coupe and new Super-ONE Kei-sized EV city car are part of this six-model onslaught.

Despite these vague descriptions, we’ve got a clear idea of these six new incoming models. Two of which we’ve known for some time, that being the Prelude premium hybrid sports coupe, followed by the Super-ONE electric (EV) Kei-sized city car hatch.
The former was teased for some time, and is poised to stand as the second ‘halo’ offering from the marque slotted just below the manic Civic Type R. As for the latter, it’s poised to charge up the marque’s EV push alongside the e:N1 crossover.
One suprise confirmation from insiders was the inclusion of the Stepwgn MPV - a long-time favourite in the local recon (grey/parallel) import market space.

Speaking with other insiders, Carz.com.my can also confirm that the latest sixth generation Stepwgn MPV model is also amongst the six new metal planned. Said squared-looking people carrier is already on sale in neighoburing Thailand, in fact.
For the Kingdom north of our Peninsular’s border, the Stepwgn is offered with the H-marque’s e:HEV hybrid petrol-electric powertrain – one it shares with the electrified Civic and CR-V stablemates featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cyl petrol base mill.

Certainly, the incoming arrival of the Stepwgn as an official offering ought to spur a shift in the aforementioned local recon market space.

Long-time favourite in the local recon (grey or parallel) import market space, its incoming entry as an official model from Honda Malaysia complete with an official warranty and after-sales backing might just spark a shift within said market space
Certainly, we can expect Malaysia-bound version of the Stepwgn to mirror what’s offered in the Thai market. As the for the remaining three models, your guess is as good as ours, though we do have some ideas.
Japanese market Honda Elevate - essentially the WR-V to us in ASEAN - pictured. Could this be amongst the six new models planned for this year by Honda Malaysia?

Certainly, with Yazaki's hint of the S+ Shift tech, we can perhaps expect both electrified variants of teh Civic and CR-V to be revised with said tech added in.

Given what was hinted by Yazaki earlier, we reckon updated versions of the electrified Civic and CR-V are both on the cards, and perhaps a revised iteration of the WR-V compact crossover. However, don’t take our word on these just yet.
Nevertheless, given what Honda Malaysia has hinted tonight, what do you folks reckon? As usual, share your take in the comments section below…
