- PLUS Expects 2.2 Million Vehicles Daily During CNY Peak Travel

PLUS Malaysia is preparing for a surge of up to 2.2 million vehicles per day on its highways during the upcoming Chinese New Year festive seasonm marking a 16% increase compared to normal traffic. Peak outbound travel from the Klang Valley is expected on 12–14 February, with return trips peaking on 20–22 February.
According to PLUS Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, “We are focusing on efficient traffic and incident management, smooth traffic distribution, and user comfort to ensure a safer and more comfortable journey for all highway users during this festive season.”
To manage the traffic spike, 6,000 staff will be deployed, and 32 Smart Lanes will be activated at high-traffic locations. PLUS also encourages drivers to plan trips ahead using the MyPLUS-TTA digital schedule via the PLUS app, which provides suggested travel times and real-time traffic updates.
Facilities have also been upgraded for the season. Since 2023, the highway concessionaire has improved over 60 R&R areas, lay-bys, and toll plazas, including new suraus, upgraded public toilets, and 26 additional cabin toilets at selected locations. Parking facilities are also being expanded at six key sites.

Drivers can access real-time updates via the PLUS app, PUTRI virtual assistant, Waze, Google Maps, or major radio stations. For emergencies, PLUSLine (1800-88-0000 and LPT2Line (1800-88-0220) are available.
