Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the 6th generation series, which was introduced in two variants; the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S 560 e Exclusive and the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 450 L AMG Line. Prices are RM 658,888 and RM 650,113 respectively. These prices do not include insurance but are inclusive of the sales and service tax. The S-Class highlights luxury, versatility and comfort.

The design is a modern and futuristic digital layout that gives a luxury feel to the vehicle.

The instrument cluster is part of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) dual 12.3-inch full LCD supervision meter cluster.

The S-Class comes with 5 spacious seats for maximum comfort. All seats are finished in black leather and are electrically adjustable. Both the driver and front passenger seats come with four-way lumbar support and memory function.

Both front and rear passengers will be spoiled with maximum comfort as the S-Class was designed for the individuals’ greatest convenience. The vehicle will leave no shortage of leg space even for passengers that are six-footers who have fully extended their seat.

The car has a glove compartment that can fit not only a small handbag but also is able to fit some essential items such as your face masks and hand sanitisers.

There are 4 cup holders and 4 bottle holders available in the S-Class. Two cup holders are located in front and two in the second-row armrest. There is one bottle holder located at each door panel.

The vehicle has 3 USB charging ports and wireless charging and Near Field Communication (NFC) connectivity. 

The S-Class 560e variant has approximately 410 litres of boot space.

The measurements are 5,125 mm in length, 1,899 mm in width, 1,496 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 3,035 mm.

The S-Class 560 e Exclusive gives a luxurious and classy look with the main focus being their new and improved three-louvre radiator grille design and their striking multibeam LED headlamps as well as their striking new bumpers.

The rear of the S-Class displays their sleek design that focuses on their improved  LED tail lamps graphics and dynamic indicators.

The front headlamps are Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and LED daytime running lights.

The tail lamps are LED units that make the vehicle seem wider and more powerful.

The S-Class 560e comes equipped with 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The S-Class has the following active safety features; Active Adaptive Brake Assist, Active Lane Change and Lane-keeping assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Emergency Stop, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Blind-Spot Assist, E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension and ABS anti-lock braking system.

The passive features include seven airbags, ISOFIX in the second-row child seat anchors, reverse camera as well as front and rear parking sensors.

There are three drive modes available which are ECO, Comfort, Sport that allows the driver to pick a mode that will suit their driving needs.

Features the MBUX System which is made up of two 12.3-inch displays that are compatible with Voice Control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto.

The driver assistance available is active steering assist, adaptive cruise control, active brake assist, Extended automatic restart on motorways, route-based speed adjustment with the end of traffic jam function, emergency corridor function, cornering and cross-traffic function.

The S-Class 560e is equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 Turbocharged petrol Engine and an electric motor. The petrol engine alone produces 372 hp at 5,500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 1,800 rpm, while the electric motor has an output of 121 hp and 440 Nm. Together, the total system output is 469 hp at 5,500 to 6,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque.

All variants come with a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.

The S 560e is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and the top speed is rated at 250 km/h.

The average fuel consumption is approximately 2.5 l/100km.

The car comes with a touchscreen audio display system, Apple carplay and Android Auto, automatic headlamps, cruise control, trunk light, a wireless smartphone charger, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power door locks with remote keyless entry system and push-start button with smart key, rear air vents, heated front and rear seats, electric folding rearview mirror, onboard computer, steering wheel gearshift paddle.

Rear air vents are available in all variants of the S-Class.
