MINI Countryman

One of MINI’s highly sought-after models, the all-new MINI Countryman (U25), officially launched in Malaysia.

Completing the line-up (Countryman – Electric, JCW), the third-gen crossover (compact SUV) is a petrol-powered counterpart to the all-electric Countryman.

Locally assembled (CKD – Kedah), available via MINI Malaysia is one variant (Countryman S ALL4 – MYR 258,888).

Price (OTR, w/o insurance) covers a standard warranty (two years, unlimited mileage) and a Roadside Assistance program (five years). 

Optional MINI extended warranty (MYR 10,400 - four years, unlimited mileage – four years, 60,000 KM free service package).

Six exterior colours (Smokey Green, Nanuq White, Chilli Red, Melting Silver, Slate Blue, Blazing Blue). Two interior colours (Vintage Brown, Dark Petrol).

Weighing in at 1,735 KG, the all-new Countryman measures at 4,447 MM long, 2,069 MM wide, 1,661 MM tall and with a wheelbase spanning 2,692 MM.

Athletically solid and bold with elements exclusive to itself, its exterior exudes seamlessly rounded and mildly angular contours.

The front-end sees MINI’s power dome bonnet and octagonal grille, smoothly shaped quarter panels and a vented bumper (three-piece – central, sides).

Outfitted is the Favoured Trim, featuring contrast trims (Gloss Black) and coloured (Piano Black, Vibrant Silver) skid plates/side mirrors/A-B-pillars/roof/roof rails.

Accentuations are body clad (Black – bumper, fenders, side sills) and ‘MINI’/‘S’ emblems (top-centre fascia – Chrome/top-right grille – Red).

Angularly rounded and stretched out with clean lines, it projects an elongated silhouette, emphasised by horizontally symmetrical surfaces.

The rear-end sees a mildly dipped roofline, a roof-edge spoiler, bulging quarter panels and tailgate, and a covered bumper (diffuser). 

Outfitted is the Favoured Trim, featuring contrast trims (Gloss Black) and coloured (Piano Black, Vibrant Silver) skid plates/C-D-pillars/roof/roof rails.

Accentuations are body clad (Black – bumper, fenders, side sills) and ‘MINI’/‘S’/Countryman emblems/script (top-centre tailgate – Chrome/bottom-right tailgate – Red/central-bottom tailgate – Chrome).

Angularly framed with darkened internals, the headlamps are iconic posing as key features to the new MINI face. Installed are Bi-LED units.

Features are automatic On/Off/rain-sensing, adaptive beams (low/high), perimeter LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), cornering/welcome lights, High-Beam Assist (HBA), customisable lighting function (three light signatures) and sequential turn signals (LED).

Vertically elongated, the tail lamps are iconic of the MINI with a darkened perimeter and the Union Jack light graphic. Installed are full LED units. 

Features are sequential turn signals (LED), welcome lights and a customisable lighting function (three light signatures).

The side mirrors (dual-tone – Black-Piano Black/Vibrant Silver) are electric-powered (auto-fold, adjust, tilt). 

Features are turn-signals, blind-spot indicators (Blind Spot Monitor – BSM), automatic-dimming, automatic parking (tilt), heating, memory and MINI logo ground projection.

Installed are ventilated (front) and solid (rear) disc brakes. Aiding the drive is an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold system.

Sportily designed, it rides on a set of 20-Inch six-spoke (Windmill-style) dual-tone (Silver-Black) aluminium-alloy rims, rubbered-up in 245/40 R20 Pirelli P Zero tyres.

A dual-functioning (instrument cluster/infotainment) floating-circular central unit (MINI Interaction Unit – MINI OLED Round display), installed is a 9.4-Inch OLED touchscreen, incorporating a MINI Head-Up Display (HUD).

Running on the MINI Operating System 9 (MINI OS 9 - Android), it supports MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant (voice control system – ‘Hey MINI’ – MINI/Spike – MINI avatar), MINI Navigation AR, MINI Experience Modes (Core, Go-Kart, Green, Vivid, Timeless, Balance, Personal, Trail), MINI App (MINI Digital Key Plus – remote control – smartphone), Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (wireless).

Power is transmitted to all four wheels, via MINI’s Intelligent ALL4 All-Wheel Drive (ALL4-AWD) system. Incorporated is an electro-hydraulically controlled multidisc clutch differential (front axle).
