Toyota Corolla Altis

The Toyota Corolla Altis is in its 12th Generation and still sticks to its fundamentals in providing a safe and comfortable drive.

The Altis comes in 2 Variants namely 1.8G high spec at RM 134,505 and 1.8E base variant at RM 123,971. The differences between the variants are mainly cosmetic. 

Has a nice leather stitching and finish, giving a luxurious ambience. 

7-inch colour multi-information display with optitron meter that can change colours. Is a fun gimmick to have.

Leather seats with 8-way powered adjusted for the driver and manual adjustment for the passenger.

Spacious interior that does not feel too enclosed, with a lot of freedom for the legs.

Glove box has medium storage space and a small armrest compartment.

2 cupholders where the centre armrest should be and 2 more at the rear passenger’s centre armrest. There are two bottle holders, each at the front door panels.

Comes equipped with a wireless charger, 1 USB port and 1 12V charging dock. Not as many as other vehicles, may be a good idea to purchase USB accessories if there are many electronics to charge.

Its body dimensions are Length 4,630mm, Width 1,780mm, Height 1,435mm and Wheelbase 2,700mm, Weight 1,365kg and Fuel tank is capped at 51 Litres

By introducing the side air vents and large slates for the grille, gives the car a much more agile look. Together with the slightly raised bonnet gives it a more futuristic look.

From the back is a clean and simple, no-nonsense design maintaining a firm yet elegant look.

The Toyota Altis 1.8G comes equipped with LED headlamps and Daytime Running Lights, as well as, LED fog lamps. That accentuates the Altis’ more angular design.

The tail lamps are of a simple design that makes the car look squarish and oblong. The car did not really evolve the look of their back very much.

Side mirror comes packed with turn indicators and blind spot indicator, making driving much more pleasant.

225/45 R17 17-inch wheels for the G spec and 225/45 R16 16-inch wheels for the E spec with alloy rims.

Comes with the FWD drivetrain.

The Altis comes with a rear sunshade for our hot Malaysian weather conditions. A wireless charging bay is available

The Altis comes with rear air vents for the comfort of passengers.

Sitting positions may be too straight for some people. Dual wishbone for rear suspension gives the car a nice gentle ride comfort.

Sound insulation is mediocre for speeds above 110kph wind and road noises become super apparent.

The Altis gives a comfortable ride and is great for starter families at a great price point of RM134,505. With Toyota’s reputation for quality builds this car can easily be in your family for more than 15 years with proper maintenance. And will not give up halfway.
