Based on the existing Corolla five-door hatchback, the new C-segment hot hatch is meaner-looking, and packs quite a punch.

Fully-imported (CBU) from Japan, its price of MYR 355,000 (on-the-road, w/o insurance), comes with a five-year and unlimited mileage warranty.

Four exterior colours are available. Precious Metal, Super White II, Emotional Red II, and Black.

Dashboard

Getting the GR treatment all around, the new GR Corolla features a straightforward and sporty dashboard layout.

The all-black scheme dash sees soft-touch paddings on the panels, and comes with a GR steering wheel and GR instrument cluster.

All the elements are placed logically and driver centric, for a better driving experience. Overall, the craftsmanship is premium quality.

Instrument Cluster

A GR instrument cluster, fitted is a 12.3-Inch fully digital, Multi-Information Display (MID) LCD unit.

Said setup comes with a head-up display (HUD), an exclusive GR start-up animation, and other driving functions.

Seats

The seats come either in an all-black leather with ultrasuede or black with red trim upholstery. Both options feature a GR logo on the headrests.

Up front, fitted are GR bucket seats with six-way (driver) and four-way (passenger) power-adjustable functions, while the rear gets a 60:40 foldable function.

Designed with form and function in mind, the front end is more aggressive compared to its regular counterpart.

Notably, due to the wide fenders (60 MM, front) that contributes to the overall planted stance, and the huge Matrix Grille with side ducts, commanding the layout.

Accompanying these elements is a smoothly contoured GR front bumper, a different hood with functional air vents, and a sportier headlight cluster.

Rear View

The rear end’s design is toned and athletic, with matching elements and wide fenders (85 MM, rear) that contributes to the overall sporty layout like the front.

Fitted is a spoiler on its carbon fibre forged roof, a triple exhaust setup (two side round tips, one centre oval tip), a gloss-black lower bumper cover (functional air vents), and a black diffuser.

Headlamps

The headlamps are very sharply-shaped and have an axe-like theme. They look very focused and ties the whole front together.

Slanted inwards, their very sinister vibe is furthered when they’re illuminated, projecting a sharply refined, axe outline light graphic.

They are automatic Bi-LED projectors, with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and LED turn signals. Also fitted is a set of LED fog lamps.

Tail Lamps

The tail lamps duplicate the head lamps exactly, at the same time contributing a lot of aesthetic to the rear layout, compensating the minimalistic style well.

They are LED combination units, and have also been paired to a set of matching fog lamps.
