The Iconic Eagle F1 Range Is Now More Affordable
Goodyear fans should remember the time when the Eagle F1 range sprung to prominence with its aggressive V-shaped tread and excellent water dispersion qualities. Since then the range has gained popularity among discerning drivers.
Yesterday, Goodyear Malaysia added to their iconic range with the Eagle F1 Sport. This new model is categorized as an Ultra High Performance (UHP) tyre, which according to Goodyear is suitable for the “aspiring racing enthusiast” due to its affordable price point. Goodyear Malaysia has recommended it for Honda Civic, Mazda3, Volkswagen Golf and other sport oriented models. ![]()
The new shoulder of the Eagle F1 Sport is designed with the aptly-named Eagle Claw to improve handling and braking performance. It adds stiffness to help improve cornering stability and steering precision.
It’s made of a high-silica tread compound with an upgraded polymer matrix to aid braking capabilities on both wet and dry surfaces. The improved cavity shape also allows for a wider footprint for better contact and pressure distribution.

In terms of comfort, the tread design comes with noise barrier strips between the ply and the liner, which reduces tyre noise for a smoother ride. The narrower lateral grooves further helps with comfort by eliminating road noise and vibrations.
Though Goodyear claims it’s ideal for drivers who're looking at upsizing their wheels because of its more aggressive appearance - this writer still prefers that aggressive V-shaped version that he had at least gone through half a dozen pieces many years ago.
The new Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport is now available at all Goodyear AutoCare centres, with sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. Priced between RM294 to RM678, you can check the full range of tyre sizes at Goodyear Malaysia’s website.
