The Mercedes’ GLA-mour SUV Launched
Kuala Lumpur, December 15, 2020 – Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, the official distributor for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars in Malaysia, has launched the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA.

This is the second generation of GLA launched in Malaysia since GLA made its debut in December 2019.
The GLA represents the entry level into the brand’s SUV models, and it is offered in two variants – the GLA 200 Progressive Line and the GLA 250 AMG Line.

Powering the GLA 200 Progressive Line is the 1.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine mated to the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It produces 163 hp at 5,500 rpm and 250 of torque from 1,620 to 4,000 rpm. The GLA 200 AMG Line is running on the 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, that resulted to 224 hp at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 1,500 and 4,500 rpm.

Performance wise, Mercedes-Benz claimed that the GLA 200 Progressive Line can complete the century sprint in 8.7 sec and the top speed is rated at 210 kph, while the figures for the GLA 250 AMG Line was clocked in at 6.9 seconds and reaching 230 kph of top speed.

The GLA 200 is equipped with 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, while the GLA 250 is fitted with the 19-inch two-tone light-alloy wheels and AMG Line body kits. The body kits further enhanced the sportiness and modern looks to make it stand out among others.

Standard across both variants is the keyless entry with push-start button, the LED head lamps, the two-piece trapezoidal LED tail lamps, twin integrated tailpipes, Mercedes-Benz User Experience with twin 10.25-inch instrument cluster and infotainment displays, as well as the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice control system, power-adjustable seats with memory function, the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, reverse camera, and hands-free powered tailgate.

Meanwhile, the GLA 200 is finished in the Artico faux leather, while the GLA 250 gets the Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery. On top of that, the GLA 250 also comes equipped with the flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, brushed aluminium trims, AMG illuminated treadplates, and 64-colour ambient lightings.

Standard safety features available on both variants includes autonomous emergency braking, door opening warning and pre-safe, as well as seven-airbags.
The fully-imported Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 Progressive Line is priced at RM 244,200, while the GLA 250 AMG Line is retailed at RM 285,337, on-the-road excluding insurance and until end of this year (due to the 50 percent reduction in the sales and services tax).
For those GLA 200 and GLA 250 registered after January 31, it will be priced at RM 252,888 and RM 295,888, respectively. All the new GLA comes with a four-year unlimited-mileage warranty.
