Joining The POLRI Alongside Hyundai Kona Electric Is The Tesla Model 3

Initially, it was just the Hyundai Kona Electric and now Tesla Model 3 have also made its way into the Indonesian National Police Fleet (POLRI).
The Hyundai Kona Electric is serving as an escort car for the Indonesian’s West Java governor’s office and the Tesla Model 3, it will be used as a patrol car by the Indonesian’s Traffic Corps (Korlantas) division.
Previously, the Hyundai Kona Electric was given by Hyundai Indonesia and the West Java governor office’s police force has gotten three of the models in total. It has been suited up with the proper colors and other police equipment.
Model for the Kona Electric used is of the only Signature variant, and is priced at RM 197, 213 (697 million rupiah) for the public. It is sporting a front-mounted electric motor that produces 100 kW (136 PS/134 hp) of power and 395 Nm of torque.
It completed the century sprint in 9.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 kph. The battery is a lithium-ion polymer type which has an output of 39.2 kWh and with WLTP regulations it is able to generate up to 289 km of range.
On the other hand, donated as a loaner by two entities, Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) and Prestige Image Motorcars is the newly joined Tesla Model 3. It has also received the appropriate livery and other police equipment.
POLRI has gotten the Model 3 in Standard Range Plus variant and is only available through Prestige Image Motorcars for a price of RM 424, 425 (1.5 billion rupiah). It is installed with a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 211 kW (287 PS/283 hp) of power and 450 Nm of torque.
Able to move from a standstill to 100 kph in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 225 kph. The Tesla Model 3 is installed with a lithium-ion battery that has an output of 54-kWh. The electric vehicle has a 400 km range and a charging cost of RM 19.81 (70, 000 rupiah) for it to get to that distance.
These respective models from the two car brands are the only electric vehicles so far to officially join the POLRI.
