The All-New K8, By Kia Corporation
Representing the rebirth of the Kia brand with their first model to don a new design identity and a new logo is the all-new Kia K8, which is due for market launch later this year.
Recently in February 2021, Kia Corporation revealed official images of their new and first model, Kia K8, in which it was meant to exemplify the company’s new direction and goals for the future.
The K8 is created to be a modern and innovative sedan. Aimed to offer a combination of sportiness and performance with an exterior design that is progressive and athletic.
It is crafted with a focus on modern, premium quality and dynamic performance all in one. The K8 sports sedan’s-built inspiration was derived from the long-standing success of the company’s K7 model or also known as Cadenza.
Kia Global Design Center’s head and senior vice president Kari Habib commented, “Following our recent company rebrand, we keep moving toward our new brand values with a new model, the K8. This modern sedan has been designed with innovation and elegance at its very core, while paying homage to the K7, the K8 looks to the future. Its progressive exterior takes on character and emotion, and combines those qualities with an expressive looking front and a dynamic swooping rear, giving the K8 a high-quality, premium presence that takes direct inspiration from some of the world’s most technically advanced yachts.”
Exterior outlook, there is a new trademark frameless ‘tiger nose’ grille which commands the front view, in turn giving the K8 presence and authority.
Portraying a clean and maintaining an expensive look, the frameless grille has been integrated into the front bumper while featuring an intricate diamond mesh-like design. Paired along with headlights that are installed with turn signals resembling a star cloud.
Kia’s newly designed logo that expresses symmetry, rhythm and rising characteristics can be seen positioned at the very front and center of the hood, slightly above the reimagined ‘tiger nose’ grille of the new K8.
Covering the tarmac’s surfaces with its elongated length at 5,015 mm, the K8 oozes a side profile that is sporty and dynamic. It has character lines that make up the length of the sedan which is inspired from yachts sailing across calm waters.
Along the Daylight Opening line (DLO) at the bottom of the doors, can be seen a chromed-out trim that strikes through from the front fender all the way back to the rear lamp. This little detailing adds confidence and gracefulness to the side of the sports sedan.
At the rear end, the K8 has a dynamic and muscular outlook complemented by its ‘fastback’ design. Along with the entire back half of the silhouette that has strong looking dropping shoulders.
To top it all off, the low roofline is paired with a cleanly tailored spoiler located atop of the boot. Underneath the spoiler lip, a futuristic looking horizontal tail light that has a jewel-like pattern situated from the front and side is placed. In which it connects the K8’s next generation LED rear light display.
The 3D vertical clusters hug the back edges of the K8, emphasizing clean, angular lines and further adding depth and width to the rear of the car. Just like the front, the back also gets the new Kia logo along with a first-ever K8 badge positioned just below the horizontal light dash.
All-new Kia K8 is crafted to complement the simple and ergonomic first-class interior by offering a contented yet high-performance driving experience to its owners.
Overall, the K8 model symbolizes an upward journey in design, technology and modernity from the outgoing K7, delivering a class-leading package that redefines the meaning of sports sedan.
