70 Percent Off Traffic Summons? Here Are The Conditions!

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is offering a discount of 70 percent to traffic offenders for all summons that can be compounded. The discount starts from today, April 13 to June 11, 2021 (60 days). However, this offer does not include cases involving courts.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the discount was offered in conjunction with JPJ's 75th anniversary celebration. He added that this discount offer involves a total of 3.5 million lawsuits that are still active from 2010 to March this year.

Blacklisted traffic offenders must go to the nearest JPJ branch to re -document the process to enable payment of summons to be made.

Payment can be made at any JPJ and UTC branch/kiosk/office. However, the public is encouraged to make payments online through the JPJ portal to avoid congestion at the counter.

"I encourage everyone to pay these summons online in order to avoid congestion at JPJ as well as it is much safer," he told reporters after the JPJ 75th Platinum Jubilee celebration in Putrajaya.

Not only that, customers can also use the JPJeQ application, an online queue waiting system.

"The mobile application allows customers to choose JPJ branches that do not have many customers and use the QR code to get the queue number, as well as it is more convenient for people with disabilities (OKU) and senior citizens," said Wee.
