No, No! For Crossing States During This Upcoming Ramadan
As the month of Ramadan is barely a few days away, some citizens may want to try to cross states to celebrate the beginning of Ramadan with family members in their hometowns. However, the public is advised to forget that notion.

This is due to around 35 roadblocks that will be set up at every entrance and exits (including all state borders) throughout the country by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
ThE action was taken because PDRM is confident that the public will do so as people are not allowed to cross states to celebrate Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitiri due to the increase in Covid-19 cases last year.
Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim said the public is advised to refrain from crossing states without permission at the beginning of Ramadan.
Therefore, PDRM will tighten all inspections at roadblocks to ensure that no one is missed. If the police detect someone trying to cross the state to return to their hometowns, there will be no further advice, PDRM will take immediate action, ”he said.

He mentioned this to reporters after the Launching Ceremony of One Park One Police and PDRM Melaka Contingent Focus 2021 in Bukit Beruang, Melaka.
Commenting further on the matter, he stated that his side would not compromise with any other side but instead, stern action will be taken against those who committed the offense.
With that being said, cross -state flexibility will only be given to those who have complete travel documents with police clearance.
He also did not rule out the possibility that PDRM could increase the number of roadblocks if the number of Covid-19 cases increased within the next few weeks.
