Volvo Cars Malaysia Reveals the New Volvo S90 Recharge T8 Sedan
Volvo Car Malaysia has just revealed the updated model of the Volvo S90 today, with a revamped exterior and interior finishing that complement the safety and technology features of the vehicle.

The all-new premium 4-door, 5-seat flagship sedan is built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform. Riding on Volvo’s Drive-E powertrain, the S90 Recharge T8 is fitted with a T8 Twin Engine and rechargeable lithium-ion battery which produces 407 hp and 640 Nm respectively. The combination of the four-cylinder engine and the engine allows a powerful drive while emitting lower CO2.

“The Volvo S90 is the embodiment of luxury for us and now with its recharged design, we want to redefine the concept of ‘travel in style’ and showcase that ‘luxury’ can also equate to ‘safety’. The aesthetics of the car – from the chrome-accented exterior and refined trims, to the updated interior with a cleaner overall look – is Scandinavian luxury at its finest. And as a final touch, the T8 Twin Engine setup in the Volvo S90 Recharge T8 gives the driver a refined, agile and powerful driving experience.” said Marketing & Public Relations Director for Volvo Car Malaysia, Akhtar Sulaiman.
Design-wise. The S90 Recharge T8 continues to instill the same design language that Volvo is known for. The combination of the minimalist Scandinavian design and stylistic cues allows for a premium image which is further emphasized by the “Thor Hammer” LED headlamp design, vertical chrome grille with the Volvo Iron Mark as well as a sleek Volvo spreadmark on the rair. The tail lamps have been updated to resemble the recent Volvo S60 T8 R-Design, which features luxury and sportiness.

The Scandinavian design continues into the cabin, enhancing the overall look of the vehicle. Fitted in the model is a sunroof, perforated front seats and vertical air blades on each side of the Sensus user interface. Two new interior trims options are also available - Grey Ash Decor with Charcoal Ventilated Nappa Leather and Pitched Oak Decor with Maroon Brown Ventilated Nappa Leather.
Speaking of which, the Sensus panel allows the driver to stay connected with convenience and technology when on-the-go. The vehicle features an all-new two front USB-C outlets with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support. The 9-inch portrait touch screen display gives easy access to a full menu of safety features and entertainment applications, enabling an immersive audio experience in the comfort of your own vehicle.

Included is also an upgraded Bower & Wilkins sound system which consists of a total of 19 speakers with an output of 1400W as well as four different room modes which amplifies the audio experience. The signature Tweeter-on-Top speaker integrates seamlessly with the overall design of the cabin.

he S90 Recharge T8 features an array of safety features, namely the Volvo’s Intellisafe system combined with the boron steel chassis. This also equips the vehicle with safety technology developed by Volvo, such as the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), CIty Safety, Cross Traffic Alert, Front and Rear Warning and Mitigation Support, Lane Keeping Aid, Pilot Assist and a 180km/h speed cap just to name a few.
“The fundamentals surrounding safety, design and performance are the same for this model as with any other Volvo. Through the dedication of our team, we are confident that this car checks all the right boxes to provide a premium driving experience. A plug-in hybrid that considers tomorrow without compromising today’s experience, the S90 Recharge T8 is luxury that makes a difference and is the perfect choice for people who embrace their uniqueness and stand out from the crowd,” concluded Akhtar.
Five distinct colours are available to choose from - Bright Silver, Crystal White Pearl, Onyx Black, Thunder Grey and an all-new Platinum Grey.
