Woman’s Car Robbed at Traffic Light, Malaysians Unite as One to Apprehend the Thief
Recently, videos were circulating on social media in regards to a Honda City that was robbed in the midst of daylight during a traffic light stop near Sri Petaling.
Four individuals in separate vehicles were able to chase after the suspect during the incident, ending the run nearing Old Klang Road
According to the time stamp from the dashcam footage, the incident occurred around 2 p.m on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, a Chinese woman, was driving her Honda City and was waiting for a traffic light stop where the suspect abruptly opened the back door and proceeded to enter the back row of the vehicle.

The woman mentioned that the car doors were not locked. As soon as the suspect got into the back seat, the victim was frightened and immediately exited the vehicle. The suspect then instantaneously climbed into the driver’s seat from the back row, driving the stolen car away towards the Old Klang Road area.
Four bypassers of the incident immediately rushed to follow the suspect. Even without knowing these individuals, they worked as a team to stop the horrendous act. As seen in the video footage, the four vehicles were seen blocking the front, back and side of Honda City which successfully stopped the suspect from escaping.

In the same video, it was seen that a Chinese man rushed out of his vehicle immediately when the suspect stopped after a failed escape. The suspect was forcefully pulled out of the car and was restrained by the man. His heroic act was praised by netizens in the Facebook post that went viral.

The second individual that was spotted in the video was a Malay man driving a Proton Exora, who helped the Chinese woman in chasing her car. Once the suspect was restrained, the Malay man accompanied the victim back to her car while comforting her as she was seen shocked and frightened.

Soon after, an Indian man was spotted in the video as well as more bypassers who came about the situation. The incident ended in a high note as the victim reportedly assisted the police and the suspect has been taken in for further investigation.

It is definitely a sight to see the spirit of Malaysians in assisting anyone regardless of who you are. On an important note, ensure your safety at all times when driving - Remember to lock the doors immediately after you get in. We may never know what can happen, so always be careful when on the road!
