‘L’ License Expired? Pay As Low As RM2 To Extend Until 11 November! Here Are The Conditions!

Malaysia's Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, announced that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has given an extension for the Learner's Driving License (LDL) for nine months starting from February 11 to November 11.

According to him, to receive this extension, LDL owners need to make a copy of the license with a fee of RM10 if the license has expired for more than two years or if it expired during the Movement Control Order (PKP).

“The date that will be printed on the LDL is the date the transaction is made and it expires on November 11 this year (more than a period of three or six months).

"If the expiry date of the LDL license is more than two years (before January 13 or after November 11), the owner is not eligible to receive the new PKP adjustment and will have to make a new LDL application.

"They also need to repeat the Driver Education Curriculum Training (KPP) 01, 02 and 03 and sit for all Part I, II and III Tests.

"Single LDL B2 owners are allowed to renew the license transaction with a fee of RM2 for a period of three months if the LDL has two years left," he said in a statement, today.

Commenting further on the announcement of the extension of the license period, this action was taken following the implementation of the PKP which was held on 13 January.

During the PKP period, the operations of all Driving Training Centers or Driving Institutes (IM), E-hailing Operators (EHO) and Computer Testing Centers (e-Khidmat) that involve training and testing activities cannot be conducted at all.

On February 11, the National Security Council (NSC) announced the re-operation of driving schools, but the management must ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the Ministry of Health and NSC are complied with.
