Subaru To Bring In New All-Electric SUV Named “SOLTERRA”

SUBARU Corporation presents “SOLTERRA”, the all-new global battery electric SUV that will be available for purchase in 2022. They built the vehicle on the e-Subaru Global Platform, a first for the company. 

Both Subaru and Toyota mutually manufactured the e-Subaru Global Platform. This platform allows the roll out of different EVs successfully by putting together multiple modules, components, such as the front, centre and rear of the vehicle. 

Besides that, “Subaru and Toyota had mutually manufactured ‘SOLTERRA’. Coming with both Subaru’s long-accumulated all-wheel-drive technology and Toyota’s state-of-the-art vehicle electrification technology, the ‘SOLTERRA’ is equipped with unique features that only an all- electric vehicle can offer.

Originating from the Latin words “Sun” (SOL) and “Earth” (TERRA), the name “SOLTERRA” was created. 

The model is set to go on sale mid-year of 2022 in markets that include Japan, the United States, Canada, Europe and China.
