Dawn Of A New Era: The Launch Of The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4

In conjunction with the Countach’s 50th Anniversary, Automobili Lamborghini has revealed the Countach LPI 800-4 - a redesigned limited edition vehicle in ode to the line's iconic status.
Pronounced as ‘Coon-tach’, the redesigned model features a distinctive and sleek look thanks to the innovative design consisting of sharp angles and lines and a characteristic wedge shape. With inspiration from the first LP 500 and LP 400 production version and the Quattrovalvole edition, the LPI 800-4 develops a new image of the Countach, which signifies the 20 years of heritage it possesses.
The LPI 800-4 is a low-set rectangular grille, angular bonnet, rectangular-shaped headlight and hexagonal wheel arches. One noticeable change would be removing the rear wing from the previous model, but the original car’s lagging air scoops and slatted gills are still present. Additionally, the dominant NACA air intake is also present on the side and doors, which is more prominent to address the previous cooling issues on the LP 112 prototype.
Unique Periscopio lines on the roof and back of the car, a new "inverted wedge" rear bumper, three-unit tail lamp clusters, quad exhaust pipes, and scissor doors are also iconic features spotted on the all-new Countach.
Interior-wise, the LPI 800-4 features luxurious leather and geometric stitching resembling cues from the original Countach, alongside an 8.4-inch HDMI centre touchscreen that manages car controls, including Apple CarPlay and Connectivity. A ‘Stile’ (Design) button is spotted, which explains the Countach design philosophy once pressed.
Powering the iconic homage is an aspirated V12 6.5-litre engine alongside Lamborghini’s supercapacitor technology, which results in a century sprint of 2.8 seconds, a 0-200 km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h.
With just 112 units, owners can choose from a range of heritage exterior paint options ranging from solid colours such as the Impact White and Giallo Countach to modern metallic paintings, such as the Viola Pasifae or Blu Uranus.
The Countach LPI 800-4 is expected to be delivered from the first quarter of 2022 to owners worldwide. Bringing this car home will cost roughly $2.6 million (RM 11 million), but rumour says units are all sold out.
