Bugatti Unleashes Not One But Two New Hyper Sports Cars, The Chiron Super Sport And Bolide

At ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ in Monterey, Bugatti, the historic French luxury marque, presented North America with two of their newest hyper sports cars.

Making headlines at the biggest automotive event of the year, patrons and enthusiasts were graced with the presence of the Chiron Super Sport and the track-focused Bolide. 

Bugatti’s president Stephan Winkelmann remarked, “The United States is Bugatti’s largest market, so for us to be able to present two brand new hyper sports cars to enthusiasts and collectors in person here is critical for the company.”

During the time-honoured event, Bugatti declared the experimental Bolide to be produced as a few-off model following on demands from patrons.

To which only 40 of these insanely light, 4-million-euro track-oriented beasts will be available for purchase, with the deliveries scheduled in 2024.

Lurking in the 1,450 kg production Bolide’s chassis is a quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine that produces 1,580 hp, which is down around 245 horses to the original concept car's 1,825 hp figure.

Apart from the Bolide, Bugatti also unveiled the new Chiron Super Sport to the American market for the first time, with the deliveries scheduled to commence in early 2022.

This head turner and uber-powerful ultimate grand tourer sees only 30 builds and rolls with a price tag of 3.2 million euros.

Mused from a top speed record-breaking machine, it roars with an overhauled 1,600 hp, quad-turbo 8-litre W16 mill that has a max speed of 480 km/h and dashes from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds.

Winkelmann concluded, “The two vehicles represent the best of the Bugatti brand, from the enhanced performance capabilities and technological innovation to the ultimate level of luxury and comfort for customers.”

Altogether, this year at The Quail, Bugatti showcased various vehicles, including the Chiron Sport, Super Sport, Pur Sport and Bolide.

While the complete Super Sport family, e.g., the Veyron Super Sport, EB110 Super Sport and the Type 55 Super Sport, joined this line-up at ‘Le Domaine Bugatti’ at The Lodge at Pebble Beach.
