Luck Strikes!: Perodua Myvi Sandwiched Badly, Driver Walked Away With Minor Injuries

“As luck would have it.”

Such was the fate of a Myvi driver who survived after he managed to get out of his vehicle which was badly crushed due to being hit by a lorry from behind in an accident at the Jalan Ipoh traffic light intersection, Sentul yesterday.

The accident caused the yellow Myvi to wreck which caused it to go under the truck.

But as luck would have it, the 45 year-old Myvi driver who was stuck in his vehicle, however, managed to get out of the windscreen of the Myvi after the public was seen pushing the truck away.

The viral video clip on the internet showed that as soon as the driver in the gray shirt got out of the badly crushed car, the public was seen applauding.

Several pictures which were spread on social media also showed that the back of the Myvi was badly damaged while the driver of the Myvi suffered only minor injuries.

In the accident, the speeding yellow dirt truck also crashed into another Myvi, Proton X70, Honda HR-V and Peugeot 380 FL when all these vehicles stopped at a traffic light intersection.

It is understood no individual was reported dead in the crash.

However, the results of the police investigation found that the 25-year-old lorry driver was apparently positive for drugs.

"Results from the initial alcohol test found that the lorry driver was not under the influence of alcohol but tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine," said the Head of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, Assistant Commissioner Sarifudin Mohd Salleh.

The case is being investigated under Section 44 (1A) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
