Lynk & Co Is Setting Up an Empire in Malaysia
Lynk & Co, an international automotive brand recognised for its partnership between Geely Auto Group and Volvo Car Group, recently debuted its “Smart Geely 2025” strategy, including its arrival in Malaysia anytime soon.
Aiming to boost their sales to 3.65 million units in annual units starting 2025, the company will enlarge its global presence by entering Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America automotive market as part of their planning.
What’s exciting is Lynk & Co has ensured their next empire will be built in Malaysia. Their revolutionised car models would be a great challenge to Tesla, which also assembles EV vehicles in the automotive world.
Lynk & Co unveils a medium-size SUV as a flagship model, 09, based on Volvo XC90, a scalable product architecture platform used for big and advanced vehicles. This model is also the sixth production that has sold over 570,000 units worldwide in the past five years.
09 model is also well-equipped with a wide touch screen and telematics system which only functions well with internet connection. As of now, Lynk & Co offers their models consisting of SUVs to sedans and hatchbacks, which are designated either on BMA, CMA, or SPA platforms by using Geely’s latest powertrain.
By having Lynk & Co in Malaysia, the models would probably manufacture their line-ups locally to build vehicles for right-hand drive markets. This is because only left-hand drive is available for now.
With Geely allowing Lynk & Co to export their cars to Australia and New Zealand, where it falls under the RHD market, from Malaysia, any idea which model is the best to launch here in Malaysia? Let us know by commenting down below!
