Perodua Establishes High Monthly Sales and Production Records in October
In October 2021, Perodua registered 27,858 vehicles, breaking the previous record of 26,848 vehicles sold in October 2020 as recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records.
The car manufacturer plans to deliver as many vehicles as possible in the fourth quarter of 2021, setting a new record with enhanced production and quick delivery to consumers.
Perodua chief executive officer and President Dato Zainal Abidin Ahmad believe that it is an achievement and commitment to customers, representing a 90.67 percent increase from 14,160 units sold in September 2021. Currently, the company is working on production improvement for the rest of the year.
Among 27,858 vehicles consists of 8,761 units of Myvis, 5,973 units of Axias, 5,257 units of Bezzas, 3,973 units of Ativas, 2,553 units of Alzas and lastly, 1,341 units of Aruz. Within a month, October 2021 has reached the highest number of vehicles produced, with 29,803 units.
From January to October 2021, Perodua registered 146,951 units, 14.5 percent lower than the 171,861 registered a year ago.
The 29,803- sold unit achievement was beyond Perodua’s current production capacity, yet the employees managed to boost their productivity with an equal level of quality without new people, equipment, or machinery. He also expressed his gratitude to his employees for working hard to ensure the vehicles were delivered to customers rapidly.
The whole operations are cautious of both the safety and health aspect by ensuring that all employees follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines while ensuring the quality requirements.
Recently, an announcement has been made regarding the extension of the Tax Sales Exemption is most welcomed. Now, they will allow the automotive ecosystem more room to recover from the recent lockdown to catch up with its demand.
This way, it will benefit everyone, including buyers to original equipment companies and dealers affected by the global semiconductor supply shortage.
November and December will be tough for Perodua and its ecosystem as they deal with supply changes due to the ongoing pandemic. Perodua is grateful for their buyers’ patience and understanding when it comes to vehicle delivery.
Thanks to the Malaysian Book of Records for noticing their achievement in 2020, Perodua will continue to produce and register many vehicles as many as possible as a sign of showing their commitment towards buyers.
