Setting The Fastest Lap And Highest Top Speed, Spyros Panopoulos Presents The Chaos

Self-proclaimed to be the world’s first ‘Ultra Sports Car’, Spyros Panopoulos Automotive has unveiled digital images of their first contraption dubbed the Chaos.

According to the newly established company based in Athens, the Project Chaos sets the fastest lap on the Nurburgring, the highest top speed, and the quickest 1/4-mile run.

To begin with, the project Chaos beats with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V10 ticker that comes in two power levels.

It sends the power to all four wheels through a dual-clutch transmission in which the company says has up to seven or eight gears.

Said motor is designed and developed in-house, with billet aluminium or 3D-printed Magnesium alloy engine block, titanium 3D printed pistons, rods and camshaft, and titanium or Inconel valves.

That’s not all, it also has a pair of turbochargers made of carbon fibre, titanium, magnesium, and ceramic compounds.

In terms of its output, the ‘Earth Version’ generates 2,049 hp (1,528 kW/2,077 PS) and 1,389 Nm of torque with a 10,000 to 11,000 rpm redline.

This one accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds, from 0 to 300 km/h in 7.9 seconds and 8.1 seconds for the 1/4-mile stretch.

Second is called the ‘Zero Gravity’. It runs on E85 racing fuel that makes 3,065 hp (2,285 kW/3,107 PS) and a neck splitting torque of 1,984 Nm and hits the redline at 11,800 to 12,200 rpm.

Acceleration-wise, the ‘Zero Gravity’ is able to dash from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.55 seconds, from 100 to 200 km/h in 1.7 seconds, and from 0 to 300 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

Then, the 1/4-mile time is a whopping 7.5 seconds which, if proven right, would make it a whole second faster than the fully-electric Rimac Nevera, the current record holder at 8.58 seconds.

Furthermore, this version’s top speed exceeds the 500 km/h mark, making it significantly faster than the SSC Tuatara at 455 km/h and faster than the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ at 490 km/h.

Also, the company states that this flagship version is a car that accelerates faster than an F1 or any other two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicle that has ever been produced, on paper, that is.

Moving on to its architecture, being an F1-inspired design, it underpins an extensive usage of 3D printing and exotic materials.

Most notably, the Chaos looks wildly aggressive and overly exaggerated, with sharp edges and complex intakes all around the bodywork.

Plus, with its almost non-existent ground clearance and long front overhang, it seems impossible to drive through the smallest of inclines.

Apart from that, the suspension travel also looks suspiciously short, with the wheels being dangerously close to the fenders.

Other features complementing the Chaos are unique 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels and 3D-printed quad exhaust pipes.

Stance-wise, the Chaos has a rather massive footprint for an ‘ultra car’. It measures at 5,053 mm long, 2,068 mm wide, 1,121 mm tall, and has a wheelbase spanning 2,854 mm.

For the ‘Earth Version’, it tips the scales at 1,388 kg, while the more powerful ‘Zero Gravity’ weighs slightly lighter at 1,272 kg.

The latter is thanks to more extensive use of exotic materials and the ‘3D printed Anadiaplasi’ design and manufacturing process applied in more of its components.

Speaking of which, the monocoque chassis is made of Zylon, while 78 percent of the body is Anadiaplasi 3D printed from titanium and magnesium alloys, and carbon fibre or carbon Kevlar parts.

Touching on the brakes, both variants are equipped with carbon-ceramic ventilated and cross-drilled discs measuring 482 mm at the front and 442 mm at the rear.

On top of that, it comes with 3D printed brake callipers and rotor hubs from Titanium or Magnesium Matrix composite.

Transitioning inside, the Chaos features a futuristic two-seater cabin with an augmented reality interface system.

Looking at the dashboard, it has a minimal yet hi-tech layout with a yoke-style steering wheel featuring an integrated touchscreen and a heads-up display.

Moreover, another wide touchscreen is also present on the passenger side, while the centre console gets only a few physical controls.

Akin to the exterior, the company used carbon fibre, zylon, titanium, magnesium, and Alcantara for pretty much every single component of the interior.

As aforementioned, the interior comes with augmented reality, where it uses VR glasses, 5G capabilities, fingerprint recognition, voice commands and face-recognition cameras.

Interestingly, the latter is to read the driver’s facial expressions in order to adapt the vehicles’ driving characteristics according to their mood and abilities.

Production-wise, the company plans to produce a limited number of only 20 units of the Chaos for each continent, with the model being exclusively distributed by Sotheby’s.

In fact, Spyros Panopoulos Automotive claimed that they have already sold the first unit, with its delivery scheduled for early 2022.

Pricing-wise, it starts from EUR 5.5 million (RM 26,267,901) for the base variant of the ‘Earth Version’ and up to EUR 12.4 million (RM 59,233,173) for the full-spec ‘Zero Gravity’ variant.

Overall, the Chaos’ public outing will take place in Athens, Greece, in the coming months, and as for the record-breaking attempts, those are said to happen sometime in 2022 and 2023.
